Process Plant Constructors Ltd (PPCL) is a subsidiary of Propak Systems Ltd., an established leader in engineering, fabrication, and construction of gas compression, processing, and heavy oil facilities in operation since 1976. PPCL is currently seeking an Assistant Construction Manager to provide direct, hands on assistance to the Construction Manager. The Assistant Construction Manager works in conjunction with Project Managers of Propak Systems Ltd. (PSL) in the preconstruction planning of project and follows through with the execution of construction projects with PPCL’s onsite management team, providing construction management support and guidance to onsite Construction Managers and Superintendents. This position reports to the PPCL Construction Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assists in planning the sequencing in which the construction will be executed • Conducts constructability reviews and advisement to assure design parameters are achievable • Assists in the development of construction schedules with PSL Project Managers • Assists in the development of construction subcontracts • Assembles onsite construction management teams of supervisory and administration personnel for each construction project being executed • Develops manpower schedules for individual projects with the assistance of on-site Construction Superintendents • Collaborates with the Home Office QA/QC and HS&E departments to establish site personnel requirements for individual projects • Liaises between PSL Project Management / Engineering and PPCL on-site Construction Superintendents to maintain clear lines of communication and assist with the resolution of day to day issues • Assists on-site Construction Superintendents with day to day manpower and construction issues as well as construction logistical needs • With the assistance of the on-site management teams, manages cost control and daily reporting regarding safety, progress, schedule, costs, and other concerns • Approves PO’s, timesheets, and expenditures generated by on-site management teams

Qualifications :

• 10+ years on-site project management experience related to mechanical construction projects in the oil & gas industry • Experience with shop modular fabrication is an asset • Project scheduling and manpower scheduling experience • Demonstrated ability to work well with company management, clients, prime contractors, subcontractors, unions, regulatory personnel, and other stakeholders • Proficiency in use of the Microsoft Office suite and scheduling software • Strong command of the English language • Minimum Class 5 Drivers License is a requirement • Candidate must be self-motivated • Ability to travel periodically to project sites Interested candidates should apply stating Assistant Construction Manager in the subject line to: Process Plant Constructors Ltd. thanks all applicants for their interest however only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
